I have a forcefield one too and happy with it, albeit a little tight under new leathers. Only had it a month and already it is starting to shape to my back!

I wear a Stowaway all the time, I'm never even aware it's there except for the rare occasions that the coccyx protector gets stuck in my pants and reverse wedgies me. I've actually forgotten to put it on a couple of times, and rode for ages before i realised it's not there.

Not the most protective, though. When I got it the logic was that it's better to have a less protective one which I'll actually wear than the best one in the world, if it's a hassle to use. Not entirely sure that holds now for me, but I know a few people with rigid knox or dainese protectors who very rarely wear them, because it's a hassle.

As for fit, most of my gear was bought to fit with it on, but it could be a problem if you have any tight gear.

I bought a Dainese when I was out in France - wear it all the time, Very comfortable and the belly and chest corsets hold my gut in a treat. :o)

The back plates overlap and slide so not rigid at all.

Yeah, they have a few models, I tried one a while back which I liked a lot. The one I tried when I bought the Knox felt like wearing a snowboard :mrgreen:

I took ages choosing and in the end got a Forcefield. Lovely bit of kit. Don't know it's there. It very soon becomes un-noticeable and soft so it shapes to your back. Very good protection too.

I crashed w/a Dainese Space G1 protector in my jacket - it worked well, but any protector in the jacket, while comfortable, doesn't cover your lower back.

Now I've got a Dainese Wave which cover my lower back too, and fits comfortably beneath my jacket. I think it'd be fairly good to protect against road rash (around the hips) too.

I wouldn't ride the bike without one, even if it was uncomfortable.

Ive just got one of the Hiprotec inserts for my jacket. CE approved and although not as good as the full on waistcoat type protectors, its the only thing I could get to fit inside my jacket. Definitely try them on with your jacket because I couldnt fasten mine after putting one on.
