Wasn't entirely my fault... G started it (in childish voice while pointing at G). :p

Dave. I know you are trying to help. What year was the RSV you were working with? If it was an 01+ then yes that's a slightly different engine Intake valves went from 36mm to 38mm. BUT the 2000 and the Falco are the same... Here is the spares pages for some components:-

Crank case 1

RSV = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/81182663.gif

SL = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/15041458.gif

Crank Case 2

RSV = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/44462790.gif

SL = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/3042680.gif

Cylinder head

RSV = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/30614075.gif

SL = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/19539069.gif

RSV 03 = http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/pictures/54501612.gif

As you can see these are the same... There is a whole site you can compare all the spares for all the years. The 2000 and 2003 are also the same appart from the valve diameter increase.

All the bits can be found here http://apriliayorkshire.co.uk/catalogue/partindex.jsp

Cheers,

Gr33k.

Never seen a Falco in my entire life.
I take it that they are ...
1..Too ugly to be used during the daylight hours
2.. Rubish and they always break down.
3..Painted to look like something else.
Carry on Falco

1. Some people like the looks others dont.

2. Dont get Aprilia/Rotax confused with Ducati... :)

You probably have seen one but not really noticed it. Didnt sell very well as it wasnt well advertised when it was out. A shame I guess.

I also guess that your post was an attempt to make me bite. Sorry if ive disappointed :D

Touche! :p

No really, I quite like the Falco from what I've seen (which isn't much). Although I am not a massive fan of its looks, I like the idea of a litre V-twin (although have never ridden one). As a result I shall forgive your above post ;)

Indeed. Doing 200+ miles trips on an RSV must be bliss, If I have to... prove im not a pussy by aching then ill be a pussy :p. The fact that I have the same engine (as 2000 RSV) and some parts, the ones that count and its actually comfortable to ride means id take the Falco over and RSV/RSV-R on the road any day.

:cool:

Then there is insurance. :smt104

Ive done similar things vs CBR's Gixxers when on my SV... therefore sv better than 600SS? :p

Someone went past me the other day too... Funnily it was on the streight bits he cought up, even with my bad settings at the time I easily out paced him in the corners, him being on a Fireblade.

Anyone can go fast on the streights and lose their licance... imo not big nor clever. Unless im doing it ofcourse :p

Compairing bikes like that dont work... 95% of riding is down the the rider anyway. :cool:

Was going to find vid of CBR125RR vs CBR600RR on donnington, Haslam on the 125 and a John Doe on the 600, the 600 won by 1/2 second! :smt104But I cant find it. :(
