be-careful not to snap the ribbon cable conector on the mo-bo its really fragile .
and what they said above about thermal compound be sure to totally remove the cement sony put on the CPU/GPU before applying your compound.

The 'cement' was wet when I took it off. Is that right?
Being careful not to snap any ribbon cable.

Yeah if your is not long back from sony then yeah it will still be wet, was it plastered on though lol they normally put way to much on .

its the connector not the cable it self mate.

I got it in January 2009 so thought it would've dried by then. Yeah looked too much.
The connector?? How do people break that?

are you taking a slim apart or a fat version?
i broke one on a fat version once, didn't really do nothing just unclipped it as normal and it snapped so i am always carefull now.

Boom!!! Fixed!!! Happy about that. Letting it run for an hour to make sure.

It's the fat version. No problem with any connector or ribbon..which was nice.
