Iv read up on the issue of the front brakes and well most of the front end on the SV,
as every1 puts it its a buget bike and the brakes do certainly feel budget 2 pot sliders, thats why ive gone for this option and i have listened to everything every1s said and feel it is the right thing to do, ill be keeping the original MC for now and im gonna be using braided hoses,DDs adapter plates look the best way of adapting the calipers to the original forks and ill be looking into that as and when i have all in place to do the work.

so thanks to you all in helping me with advice its much appreciated..............:grouphug:

now all i need is a K3 full back end for my next bit of project work:smt023
so if any1 knows some1 i would be greatly appreciated

If you're going down this route, then upgrading the front forks would be a very good idea IMO... Not neccesarily replacing them, but if you're over about 11 stone then the front springs are pretty soft, and the stock oil being at least 5 years old now and pretty watery when new could do with a replacement. Assuming you've not already done that of course!

Chees NW taken on board, whats the best course of action regarding springs and oil im around 12.5 stone and would rather do it all whilst the bikes due for its 14000 service..

I know threads are there relating to oil/fork springs etc but if you have the advice on which is best please let me know and i will have the jobs done at the same time

I'm not too good on stock forks tbh. I used slightly stiffer Ohlins springs and 15W oil, which would probably be OK for you but I've no idea if it would be best. I would have fitted cartridge emulators eventually, if I'd not gone over to the GSXR forks instead.

Depends... You can use a magnet/pickup kit, which can be found from various sources, or you can do what I did if you have a curvy and fit the speedo to the rear wheel (to be honest, I wouldn't do this today, there's better options with the replacement pickups than there was when I did it)
