he really was pete, and yes he was right it was a water bottle. you took of pretty quicky afterwards dave, quicky is an understatement as you hurtled along that slip road.

do you live in gloucester/wiltshire dave?

if you ever want to sell that beast of yours dave please let me know. what kind of power are you getting from it?

answer to you question dave, I am looking for a bit more omph from the sv but want to keep its everyday commuting ability and comfort. i'm not after a rip snarling beast like you had, sounded like it wanted to kill me when it was ticking over, does it have an asbo?

Not yet, I think Northwind (another member) would like the motor though. Its maximum power has been 96bhp and 62ft according to the last dyno print out I done, she's completely stripped now and I am aiming for 100+.

A can and a gearing alteration would be the best bet, then work on the suspension as this is the SV's achilles heel!

No ASBO yet, and yes she does sound a little menacing at times when the engine starts hunting. The 'rip snarling' comes from having a full system with a can that has no perforated inner tube and no baffling material, basically a straight pipe from the cylinders (Honda MotoGP'ish).
