Mate, get yourself an i-trip off ebay. About a tenner, and then you can listen to all your tunes in the car!

Nope.

Fair use applies to copies you have made YOURSELF from your own original.

The UK doesnt actually have a fair use law, unlike the US, but I do believe we have the right to make a backup.

Anyway..... I-tunes (turn and spit) does have a CD burning function.

(It also knows how to decode pre-emphasis so I suppose it's not all bad. And apple lossless is - so I'll refrain from biaching)

EDIT: Just get one of those things that lets you play you pod through the car stereo - works for me.

OK under my definitions listening to something isn't going to do any harm. If I didn't downlaod songs I probably wouldn't buy them either, I'm not that musically inclined. Not stealing, I've cost noone any money. I'm not making any myself.

If I was to go out and hoof someone in the nuts, then take their wallet, that however, would be stealing. My gain to someone elses loss.

If you're into listening to pop "music" then who really cares? Are these "artists" going to notice 50p they haven't got to spend on cocaine?

Film downloading, it's not stealing, it's laziness, I download films when I can't be ar$ed to wait for them to be put on telly...

Anyway rant over... I don't like iBloat.exe either...

So, to Steal something you have to take it without intent to return it? What have I physically taken, all I have done by copying a file is set a bunch of magnetic particles to have specific properties, that when read, are the same as the original file, however the original file is still in the possession of the owner.

Therefore nothing has been stolen.

So its not theft.

Does that apply if I clone your credit card?:p
