I've been changing my bikes a lot recently. Picked up my newish (well 10 year old) CBR1100XX - awesome ride. Power delivery is smooth and devastatingly quick, looks pretty good too. Fits me better than any other bike I have been on, really comfy and easy to ride. It will probably take me another 10 years to be able to ride to its full potential, but I think I will be keeping this one. And its been sunny for the first time in about 6 months, done 100miles today just riding around.:smt026

Went out for a ride today to scrub my new tyres in.
So nice to have tyres which tip in to corners now!! :D
Although since I got the tyres fitted on Wednesday, my bike is backfiring a lot (I'm guessing balancing the carbs will sort this?), and the alarm acting weird.

Need to get 'em sorted before I ride it again really, as the META alarm auto immobilises after 30 seconds of the ignition being off, and the fobs aren't doing anything.:smt067:smt093 Bloody thing!!

If you really enjoyed it, I take it M_247 was not on the back at the time!?!? :D

She was most definately not. I'd be dead if I did that sort of speed with her on the back cuz she'd kill me when we stopped!!

How much past 130 did you get

Not much as my bike will only do 140 (indicated) plus much faster and I would've had my knee down whilst racing the porsche which would've thrown me out of my comfort zone!!

Surely you could've done that during the week, or next weekend or in fact anytime when the weather turns pants???

No!! As the parts are still not in for my bike . I am hoping it will be ready for NW4 tho :D

Surely someone could get it roadworthy for you so you can at least ride it while your waiting for parts??

You'll find it hard balancing the carbs on a pointy as it's got fuel injection!

Tyres wont make it backfire either as it's a fueling issue, have you recently fitted an aftermarket exhaust as this would make it backfire. Many people on here find this and they also find they quite like it and do nothing about it (me being one of them!!).

On the alarm front, is there a light on the fobs to show when your pushing a button or to help guide your key? If so does it still light up?? It may be worth changing the batteries to see if the ones you have are dead. This can easily happen if something has been put on top of them causing the buttons to be pushed in constantly.
