I doubt they started the bike, there were large tyre marks by my garage. Probably just bunged into a van.

Wow thats a proper jobby, doesnt sound like the local chavs!
3 heavy duty chains/locks is a proper hard task.
The thing that would bother me is not loosing the bike; they must have been keeping an eye on you and your bike a fair few times!!
Sorry to hear about it, glad you've had no insurance probs.
Have you got a replacement yet?

Yeah that's what I thought. It had only left the garage twice after I bought it home too.
Replacement is on the cards :-D
Should have my cheque through from insurers this week they say.

I wonder what the odds of them actually getting it to you this week are.

Have you found a new bike or waiting for the check to come through then on the hunt?

I'm going to say slim at best. Although 'luckily' I had another SV, which i've since sold. Used that as a deposit :p

And i'm moving house so hopefully will all be a bit more secure.

Discs locks can be pointless.. All you have to do is un bolt brakes and unscrew disc and there you have it.. Bike rolling, I think motrax do a small simple garage alarm for about 20 quid or there abouts.. Alarms are the only majour deterent or go a next level and get a bike safe! With a garage alarm and make it like fort Knox.

Most can be kicked off or most likely; bike just picked up and carried away. Best options are solid ground anchor + almax chain plus secondary chain or cable lock with garage alarm. Oh and if you ever chain your bike up somewhere don't leave the steering lock on - thieves don't give two ****s about your pride and joy if they get through the chain they'll have no quibbles kicking off the steering lock (which only adds to your expenses if you're lucky enough to have it returned).
