Yes, suzuki won't admit there is any problem at all as usual.

Ah yes, heated grips. I'll definately be adding some of them at the end of the summer. I honestly think i'd have no fingers left if i hadn't have added some to my Bandit last winter.

Whats this gel-pad for the seat all about? Just adds more comfort to the old ass on long rides?

Yeah. Stock SV seat is made of foam which feels nice and soft but isn't too good long distance.

Handguards are great, they save the levers in any minor mishap too.

Tough stuff, I parked the bike near upside down on these, didn't break. And the renthals held up to it fine too. (stock bars fold up for fun, just as soft as stock bandit bars!)

Re: New SV owner - various questions

Another thing i forgot to ask -

My Bandit had a few problems areas that i needed to keep an eye on. For example the two thin pipes coming down from each side of the oil cooler rusted to hell, so i had to spray wd40 on them after a wash to stop them corroding any further.

Rusty bits also appeared on the join welds of the frame so i had to keep tabs on these too.

So, are there any particular problem areas on the SV that a good dose of wd40 or acf50 can keep at bay?

Sorry to keep banging on about my Bandit, but its the only thing that has given me my limited knowledge of bikes :)

acf 50 everything ( except wheels and brakes) sub frame gets some rust and of corse suzuki standard cheesy bolts cluch safety switches are renouned for it too

Re: New SV owner - various questions

The sv650 frame is alloy and I've never seen one with corrosion problems. I think it's anodised or something under the paint.

But yeah, everything else shows the suzuki pedigree
