HOVIS - Please Read
I'd like to bump this again, also I know that a few of you have asked about an article in fallen friends section of the main site etc etc. Its not my place to dictate how, what, when and where with this and its certainly not my place to dictate how people greive and what process we all go through. Its not an easy time for any of us, it doesnt matter how much you knew him, he touched our lives in many different and varying ways.
However now is not the time just yet I feel to start talking about a lasting tribute. As to be perfectly honest, I know that a few that were very close to Hovis are struggling with the concept of putting up fallen friends tributes and so on right now. He has not been buried yet, we are all just beginning to come to terms with things and I can't speak for anyone else, but I personally just feel that we need to give this time. It's been 4 days and we haven't had the funeral yet, so forgive me if you feel I am being over sensitive, but it just feels wrong to be thinking about things like that just yet. Please accept my apoligies if I am speaking out of turn, but I know I am not just speaking for myself in wanting to hold off on things like fallen friends tributes. We are all doing our best to keep everyone informed as and when we get information and I hope people remember that it's overwhelming at times. Can I ask that we continue to keep the threads that are running where appropriate free of chat / banter as I am sure you can see for yourselves people are still catching up on the news and posting their thoughts and feelings. |
Re: HOVIS - Please Read :-)
Fallen friends tributes come along in time, in think.

The tribute on the fallen friends page is not something to do when emotions are still running high and the incident has not yet been fullly processed by those who have to write it. There are a few people who will have an input in this and they were all close to the good man. I think that we, as a caring and sensitive group of people, as has been shown, need to let those people take their times, think about it, giggle over things, cry over things and all the other processes of grieving that will need to come. In order for the tribute to be a good one, we all need to back off of those who are doing it a bit and give them time. Good things come to those who wait. |
