just grow it for a week minimum, until it starts to get a bit itchy basically, then start shaving bits out and see what look you like.

I've had a full 'tasche since I was 18 and cannot imagine shaving it off now after two decades plus. It's pretty much like Ned's, hence my avatar, and for a laugh I once grew the ends down to look like a Mexican bandit. My dad hated it - job done!!
One of these days I will join the Handlebar Club if I can persuade the ends to twiddle upwards... |
