I thought that they did the human male equivalent, y'know snip snip, not a complete ectomy.

No.....I've only ever known those things stress dogs out and these two don't need them. If they start to try and lick, we just have to say, "leave" and we get a look, a little wag of the tail and they go back to sleep. This is the 5th time Stig has been operated on, so he and I have an understanding now....he just wants cuddles, cuddles and more cuddles, has a cry every hour or so and sleeps the rest of the time. First op he fought it...now he just gives up and sleeps the anaesthetic off. Squirrel is just flat out sleeping on Dans lap!

Nope.....removing the whole testicle has more of an effect on the hormone production so I remember, but not 100% sure about that. Maybe VT can tell us.

you could have had them replaced with little bells that would have let you know when they were close ;-}

I thought that, they should put some prosthetic ones in, you know, two plastic marbles, that way the other boy dogs won't laugh at them and say things like "hey sweetcheeks, wanna dance, oh, you're a boy, sorry i couldn't tell ha haa haa"...

Dogs can be so mean sometimes :(

Cruel sods. Bet it was her behind it all. when our little Jasper went to the vets. David and me were crossed legged pleading for the retention of the crown jewels. The women of the household had other plans.

Nope, last I had STig booked in, they cancelled last minute (old vets) and since then Stretchie is the one that has been saying, "we need to get them done". It was a 50/50 decision, but I am just sad that we won't ever have Stig puppies....he's so beautiful :-(

Patients are fine BTW...stll sleeping and Squirrel didn't enjoy having a bowel movement this morning......he was so sore I could see him trying to poo, then trying to stop cause it hurt...then trying again. I couldn't help but laugh though....I am so mean!
