I wasn't making a joke....just that it amused me how they randomly said they could see me today if it was urgent but not till 2.30. I would have thought that as a default setting dentists wouldn't offer this time as an option.

Anyhoo, the good news is that since i ma now an official bit of doley scum, living off the back of all you working suckers my dentist is gonna do i all under the NHS for me, he's private normally you see.
And today he took out the old filling, cleaned up a small infection and started on the root canal work needed.

I go back in Jan and get a gold top bit, well bling innit!

Err I think I will pass on your kind offer mate, suddenly hospital isnt sounding so bad.

Actually I am planning to ignore it for a few more days and see if it goes away on its own.

I told him about you though in passing and he said "tell her to get it seen to, its not gonna get better by itself"...so there you have it hun. Not the best news i know but its what the pro advised.

I hope some magic fairies come sort it out overnight for you sweetie but if not, you know what you must do.

Tale of woe and misery coming up...........

I have been to "dentista" and told the nice man with a sharp metal pointy stick that the swollen lump on my face was not to be lanced!!! :smt105

Sometimes I wish I could have a matrix type chip inserted into my brain, and instantly understand everything in portuguese. Today was one of those scary days of having to trust that they understand what you have told them, in my very rubbish portuguese!:roll:

Upshot is that I have a big wisdom tooth with a mahoooooooosive root going all the way through to my nerve!!! Therefore they dont want to take it out as they dont want to paralise my face. (although perhaps it might be a cheap way to get early botox in ...:smt105)

So now I still have hamster face and gigantic horse tablets to take, they are going to wait until the anti-inflamitory thingys do their thing before they do a CAT scan on my jaw and tell me that they cant do a blinkin thing about it. :smt009

so now I just feel :smt062

See my tales of woe sounds no where near as exciting as xXBADGERXx´s stories.

Just had a root canal done a few weeks ago,
They had me scheduled to get the gold top bit 2 days before Christmas but i called and told them I would be out of town so they would put if off till Jan.
(wasn't a total lie...my house is in the countryside, that's out of town) ;)
Did want to take the chance of missing all that good food at Christmas!

Hope you are feeling better now!

Anna, really sorry to hear that, I was lucky with my first one - hardly had a nerve. Second one I managed to get "dry socket" and I never want to ever go thru that again! Keep us posted so we can hiss at them in portugese if need be!
