Re: Bearing question for Curvy

Unless sv stems are different on UK bikes they are not press fit, they are smaller diameter than gsxr. I have done few of them, all smaller.

Here is picture:
sv triple hole - 1.183"
sv stem diameter - 1.185"
gsxr triple hole - 1.192
gsxr stem diameter - 1.194"

If you can press fit 1.185 stem in to 1.192 hole you are magician :)

To press stem out you push from top down (from upper triple side down).
To press stem in you press from bottom up (from wheel side up).

thats not a srad yoke tho.... or atleast it doesnt look like it, my sv stem fitted perfectly and tapered at the bottom to the same diametre as the gsxr stem hence being able to use the same bottom bearing.......... I have sort of done it up there ^^ :smt105

It is 01 gsxr600 yoke.
All gsxr yokes from 96-09 have same size hole and stem diameter where it is pressed in. I have them all, name year of gsxr and I will post pic of yoke :)
Reason I am posting it because I have swapped many of this and always had to braze and turn stem to size to be able to press it in.
How you got it to work I have no clue. Maybe you deformed something when you forced it wrong way and broke lip.

I figured out what you did. You put bolt in bottom of stem turned down to fit step in yoke. Your stem is not pressed in to yoke like it should be. Your yoke is sandwiched between bolt and bearing race but you have clearance inside. That is wrong and you should fix it. Stem has to be pressed in to yoke all the way through hole.
Both stems have same diameter where bearing is pressed on but last 20mm has bigger diameter for pressing in to yoke. Your is not pressed in this part and sooner or later it will start moving in there.
If I was you I would take it out and fix.
