^ it wont matter even if its x8 as long as its pcie 2.0 the gtx280 cannot use all the bandwidth (apart from 4x slots) its when its PCI-E 1.0 x8 when the GTX will hit a bottle neck

just for a quick referance

PCI-E 1.0 16x = PCI-E 2.0 8x, PCI-E 2.0 16x has twice as much bandwidth as PCI-E 1.0 16x

you may allready know that lol

PS even my intel 775 motherboard has 3 16x PCI-E slots 2 are 2.0 one is 1.0 but all 16x

I have had compatability issues in the past... A shame because they do have some major fast cards at the moment. Oh well im happy with my 9800GTX for now. :)

my 5770 is running well hot .. i dont know if its down to the room temperature though.
40-45 c on idle and goes right up to 85-90c under 100% load.

That dont sound normal, I thought those things were supposed to run really cool!?

Is it going back to 2D when you finish playing games?
