No, you don't have to go slow if you are upright, just be smooth and safe through the courners.
When I had the new ones on Suzi I was bombing up the A470 at 70mph :-) Just take it easy on round abouts and sharp corners is all. The more you ride leant over the more you can lean, you need to get the "sheen" off the tyres |

not a big fan of them tbh, i like my belly pan. On the SV i just like the engine on show, looks nicer i think. These Storms best be good, but tbh can't be worse than what i got.

I got dunlop sportmaxx on mine now, they are kinda odd right now, need a good warm road I think.
