Re: To buy, or to modify?
I miss his knowledge as well.He did the thread that took ?Nadine Bien through testing and replacing the alternator on a sick sv.It still remains one of the best threads on this site and sums up what a great site it is.He also helped several track dayers with their riding skills, most of whom rarely or never post here any longer since Blue was outed.Personally I can forgive a lot when someone is such a positive in other ways.

Video is awesome! The power of that Gixer is insane! Gotta hand it to the SV rider, he can ride.

It must be girls bike if they like looking at the back of it so much. Modify, unless you're bored of the bike. |
Re: To buy, or to modify?
Personally I prefer the smaller bikes on the track, I love the 400's but prefer the SV.
I only wish I had some footage of the SV on track, all I have is me on the 400. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7a9Exx3o8s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti1Q5Cj0GHs Druid |
Re: To buy, or to modify?
What about an SV1000, better suspension, lot more power and only 20-30 kilo heavier. It's more than just a bigger 650!

Re: To buy, or to modify?
IMO the 1000 while possibly better on road isn't as good as the 650 on the track.

Re: To buy, or to modify?
I had this choice a few years ago. In the end as I chose to buy a new zx6-R. which was probably a good decision. as i would have had to throw good money after bad to get the SV anywhere near the handaling and riding capability of the ZX-6. and the engine well would have never made the same power with all the money in the world chucked at it.
Personally i would say buy a newer bike rather than wasting money turning the SV into something its not. |
