Yes, pay fine and hand over license and that's it.

Make sure you take both parts of your license though, I've heard of people having their fine refunded and a trip to court when they didn't have both parts.

Good for you, putting your hand up at the time and on here. makes a change. Yes seems like the officer was fair with you .
yes you can say what speed your speedo theoretically indicated as it does not matter how fast you were or may have been going just how fast it can be proven you were going. which is 97.

I appreciate you are accepting the ticket but out of interest did they show you the device they used to clock you.
If it was fitted to the car, normally in the middle of the dash and with red LED figures displayed it was Police Pilot which is a VASCAR system and that 97 would have been an average speed reading, so may have included your slowing down bit....
If it was on a video screen then it was probably Provida which is another VASCAR system, only on video to prove they pushed the buttons at the right time.
If it was hand held then it was probably a Laser device in which case there may be something you need to know, especially if they bounced you off a motorway slip road.

Awhat you got a producer too?
What a stupid thing that is. Copper being a douche if you ask me. They would already know if you had a licence, insurance n tax as it's all computerised now.
What's the point in issuing a producer? Knob

The Officer did not show me any device - though he had the screen with the VASCAR setup on and working with no red bits on. Just to add to the tale - there was a Highways Agency 4x4 on the opposite side of the Mway on one of those podium raised verges - facing both east and west bound carriages - which I have a hunch had something to do with clocking me? Call me stupid but I knew that I had done wrong and did not dispute or ask the TO what grounds or evidence he had.

To those who asked the figures on my Speedo had a 1 and a 1 and a 5 at the time of glancing down. Hence I was very grateful at the offer given... This is not something I would repeat or have done for a long time and feel like a **** for doing so.

I know - it has something to do with me being a 'soft' target - the middle class working guy who pays his due and is fully legal. Same story repeated every day - a minute of madness and you pay the price literally.

He brought up all my details on the screen and I answered all flawlessly - as you would being fully legal - sober and papping your pants...

DVLA issue the points to the license not the police.

So true ain't it. Fact is it's easier to prosecute and upstanding citizen for minor offences (crime) yet you see these shows where they raid drug dens and just because the people inside haven't actually got a big bag of heroin in there hand with a for sale sign on it as the police bang down the door then they can't prove that the people inside were dealing it. So no prosecution.
Or I once saw a guy who blantanly stole this car but due to an error couldn't actually be prosecuted!!!
It's a joke.
