[QUOTE=Bri w;2245780]I'm a townie but about 1/2 mile from open countryside, and only a few miles from the North Yorks Moors - the OTHER side of the North Yorks Moors, and MILES away from Timwilky. Roads too straight though - could do with a few chicanes.

Town - Shrewsbury is a town of about 50,000 - once outside the main towns, Shropshire is very rural - but the outlying villages are usually included and then the population climbs to about 80 - 90,000.

I live on the south side of town, a few minutes walk from open countryside. Whichever way you go from here, it's a fantastic ride - east on the very twisty Buildwas road to Ironbridge and Much Wenlock, south to the hills around Stretton and Ludlow and the fantastic road through Corvedale, go north up the equally fantastic A49 to Warrington, and best of all head out west to Wales and the Berwyns (my favourite ride) or south west to Rhayader and the simply beautiful Elan Valley.

Peeps - it really is good:cool:

Edge of town, 1 and half miles from the start of the Cat 'N' Fiddle in one direction and about a 1 mile to countryside heading towards Leek in the other direction. Nice view of the hills of the Peak District from front and back gardens :D

I live in a village and it definitely feels like a village too despite being only 2 miles from Northampton town centre.

My bedroom looks over a golf course and the front over the pines forest park

I am definitely a country bumpkin and when I lived in town felt really uneasy all the time.

My Mum lives on the edge of Leigham, over looking Plymbridge woods. Sunrise is beautiful down there because it shines over South Moor and you can see that from my Mum's windows. :D

She had wild deer in her garden when I was there in 2007 and her garden is filled with birds despite her cats. I love the closeness of Dartmoor, when I am down there, I can feel the call of the wild. :rendeer:

Sadly, Leigham is not such a nice place and I have had a few problems with local chavs when I have been visiting her, something to do with me being a gothic motorcyclist that they like to start fights with me! Last time I went to the ASDA there, I had to be rescued by the Police! I did notice that there were signs up that made it illegal for groups of more than six to gather around there though. :smt018

Nice place Plymouth... Shame about some of the locals not liking visitors!

Countryside, in a village which is too small to be called a village at just 25 houses. Absolutely, gloriously beautiful place.
