Yep, because it's only catholic charities that have put bore holes in.
And they've done so much for health and education (using a condom will give AIDS don't you know)
Religion is a concept created by man to have control over other men and the catholic church became very very good at it! I have no time for any man who dictates what everyone else should do because he can hear voices......

Not one penny of the money put in and collected goes to wards the trappings and finery that is the Vatican,Cathedrals and Church's.------------------YEAH
For an institution with so much wealth you would think they could do a bit more good in the world apart from taking from the less fortunate to finance their life style.

I am no great Christian but I do give to charities only not the ones with fancy offices and highly paid staff.

It truly amazes me that in todays modern world people can still be gullible and believe in what is no more than a tale with probably the smallest iota of truth which is stretched to the stage it is beyond belief. Not only the Catholic faith but every other faith,they are all the same and responsible for most of the contention and strife that exists in the world today.

On the subject, can we imagine the fuss if a certain 'Eastern' religion that you allude to was the object of a little joke or two?

A bit of light ribbing would be fine and everyone would take it in the right spirit wouldn't they?

PJP II: I always thought that he was a more realistic head of the RC Church, but I did feel a certain disappointment when he felt the need to publicly reiterate the Catholic feelngs on the use of contraception slap bang in the middle of an AIDS crisis in Africa.

I'm not sure that helped.

Certainly is a moot point that this Pope thing is widely regarded as the best bit of comedy since Monty Python yet the makers of South Park are being threatened with murder because they have apparently portrayed Mohammed irreverently in their program.
