Re: Lower Fairings - should I get them?
I bet you could double that £105 for suzuki ones. surely someone here must have fitted aftermarket ones, but they still prob need the brackets still.

Nobody has mentioned having aftermarket lowers so far so no reviews to consider. And I won't know whether any second hand ones are aftermarket or original either. |

These are the Skidmarx lowers fitted to a 99 sv. Thoughts?

Re: Lower Fairings - should I get them?
On a pointy I'd say yes, but on a curvy they don't belong, they look like an overgrown belly pan. I think the belly pan and upper fairings you have now in your OP looks much better and finishes off the bike nicely. They don't really do much in terms of protection for you or the bike either, in fact unless you are prepared to remove them to clean properly underneath on a regular basis, it could be argued that they will be detrimental to your bike's finish over a period of time.

have the OEM lowers and I think they look perfect - can't say my bike has suffered because of them - boils down to what YOU like

Re: Lower Fairings - should I get them?
Not my taste. They look very much like an after thought where as the Suzuki ones follow the lines of the bike and flow much better.
The first set I had were a slightly damaged set that needed some deep scratches filled and the resprayed to colour match the rest. The second set were from an ebay win and were an unused boxed set in my colour. I still have a set of brackets from the first set but the front bar that holds the two sides together and mounts to the radiator mount is bent. I haven't tried to straighten it so I don't know if it will. Maybe the beffeting and reduced wetness is an individual thing then, but it was very windy on the way home today and my lower legs were protected from some of the wind blast. |
Re: Lower Fairings - should I get them?
leave them off, they don't do anything.
