where's the 'run and squeal like a little girl smilie'? cos i popped out to head to the garage to get a jerry can / fresh petrol thought '1 last attempt', 5th try gave it juice exactly as i hit the starter and it took! sounded rough for the first minute now sounds sweet and lovely...

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Chucking on my kit now to test - not out of the woods yet - will report back if i make it around the block a couple of times. would love to hear any theories as always trying to learn and understand - and hopefully will stop me asking silly qu's. all being well i'll get onto the reg/rec checks to ensure all is well there to keep new battery tiptop

right brb, :riding:

Wow just read through this thread! Gutted mate, I never had one spot of bother with this bike and as soon as you get your hands on it things start going wrong!!

What was the problem in the end? Dead battery or reg/rec? It was garaged the whole time I owned it so it never really had to deal with the great outdoors for any length of time.

How do chap! :)

seemingly the battery so far and nothing more i think :?

new battery did do the trick, and still running since saturday... checked voltage at 4/5k and seems to hover around 14.55v if i remember correctly which from what i could remember of a few threads was ok... noticed that on tickover it was similar though (or even a touch higher 14.6 or 7) and couldnt remember if that was happy days.

Maybe the cold just finished it off so i guess its just one of those things! But i'll give you a :smt070just for the hell of it ;) haha so far apart from that and catching the front indicators taking my cover on / off all seems well. Oh and the ladies love it whether moving or standing still so that helps!!! As soon as something goes wrong with my transport i tend to jump to the worst conclusions - a habit from owning an alfa i think but the ladies and gents on here are very willing to help out and all is well and still loving it :) i need a name for her but nothing has jumped out... any suggestions? The alfa is Talula.. dont ask why cos i dont know!!

How is the house hunting going??
