Re: Global Cat Experiment
I don't have anything against cats in general. The one I refered to is a little **** though.
I just don't seem to get them. I seem to have more of an understanding of dogs. I was in the pet store the other day and a rotweiler turned and greeted me so gave it a good fussing, the onwer then remarked how the dog never bothers with strangers and certainly doesn't normally enjoy getting petted by them. My friend has a Springer Spaniel (and I love Springers, family pet is a springer and we've had her for 14 years) I went to pet her and realised she was very very nervous, timid and she'd wet herself. So I changed my tact and within about 15 mins she was sat on my lap on the sofa trying to lick me on the face. I'm on the look out for a dog for a pet as they bring me so much enjoyment, torn between a springer or a husky. Cats however I just seem to wind them up whenever I go near them, I have a cat claw scar from the old family cat on my hand. |

No cats, (I assume) no kids, if you've got time to exercise a Husky you've got time to exercise pretty much anything...;) Perfect adoption candidate... |

I prefer to know up front what might annoy a Rottweiler. :p |

B you need to get out of that garage! Going to get me mate to try it on his tabby. |
Re: Global Cat Experiment
It was a woman and she was busy looking at a new toy for the dog.
Rottweilers or any dog really don't scare me. Dogs will give warnings or behave oddly before anything untowards happens. I always let a dog approach me rather than the other way round. I hold my hand out for them to smell as soon as they do you know they are good. Yeah TLW I have been looking at rehoming but there is nothing in my area. The closest is at least a 40min drive or 1hr20min round trip. Still keeping my eyes peeled though. |
Re: Global Cat Experiment
Well in all honesty I'd rather have an evil Mister Tibbs or Harry Cat jump out from under a dresser or out of a bag, than a dog turn on me ... when you think they 'look ok'.

One hes been trying to play with from behind a fence for ages, but the other two were roaming free in coats whilst their owner pretended not to see them crapping all over grass verges, whilst they hid behind a garden wall. Thing is they ganged up on Bob, and it could have ended very nasty, seeing as he was on a lead and surrounded by kids. They were big things, and a bit too 'inquisitive' for my liking, if they'd have come any closer I'd have booted them up the arris, and I love dogs. |
