Ouch. Back pain is the worst too. Hope it's nothing permanent, still, get it seen asap.

Pegs just said......260kilos??....shoulda let it go!

Its perrtty much the same weight as his bus, theres no way he could save that with his dodgy leg.
SO, well done on saving the tax payer a small amount of money:rolleyes:

I had to choose between dropping the SV or trying to hold it up with a pinned elbow last summer. Having ripped the plate out once already it was an easy choice - crunch goes the bike and not my arm. Hope you fel better soon. Naproxen and a glass of wine will help.

Back pain is a bugger, I remember on my cbt u just couldn't get the bike on it's centre stand. I really wrenched my back, neck and shoulder. Took week before I could lift anything remotely heavy.

I still find it odd to think you followed me quite a bit on NWR6 lol, especially the twisty bit by the lake at the same level as the road...

Legend.

In fairness Pete given the option of dropping the bike and the humiliation from both colleagues and public around me or keeping it up and hurting my back...I'd probably at that moment in time chose keeping the bike up!!!

Can you imagine the public delight in watching you trying to get help to lift bike back up?? lol!

Ahr bloody unlucky.

I did similar a few years ago riding a GPZ1000 not long after I had broken a load of bits in my wrist, I put my foot down a pothole and it started to go. I caught the bike but as I did it just felt my wrist twinge like f***, not the best idea considering I'd ripped some chunks of bone off where some tendons were attached. Back to a brace for it and rolling cigs one handed for another fortnight.

The GPZ1000 wasn't worth holding up either.

I remember on a rideout a few years ago someone half dropped their sv at a junction and was holding it at 45degs. Some of the others jumped off their bikes and got him vertical again, Moral, you did well getting it back up.

Wasn't dropped.. some Ecosser on a cruiser ;) dunted Indi's back wheel and threw him off balance, I nearly dropped mine at the same point trying to get off/stand down rapid style to help #-o

I wandered if that was the same one? As usual I missed the whole thing too busy cursing the SV and my wrist.

I think we've all done it and yeah the first instance is to try and save it. though its weird when your bike suddenly goes light cos you got help from behind!

sorry to hear this tale of woe Blue Pete...seems we've all been there ...there was a sudden snow storm in the capital a few years ago and i was half way home....by the time i got to Brixton from Vauxhall ( about 2 miles ) the roads were covered in snow and it wasnt slushing...shoulda stopped , left the bike and walked home, instead ploughed on and coming to rest at the lights the thing started to go and like you - i battled for ages to right it ...anyway ...when i finally got home i realised my heart was racing and i had got away with the most terrifying trip of my life :)

GWS !
