In the time it took you to type that reply, maybe you could of signed up, you say that signing the petition is pointless could you please let me know what your response has achieved?

I agree with you but I have signed about 5 or 6 of these thing sin various guises. I protested in 2000 when it hit a quid a gallon. Did it do anything No. What did my post achieve. Nothing. Face. Bothered?

We as a nation can not even agree on who to have running the country yet we whinge when they do stuff. Yes fuel is stupidly expensive, no lets correct that, the Taxation on fuel is ridiculous and the fact that they add VAT on a Duty is just plain illegal.

We have rioted over Poll Tax - Result - Nothing, change it name
We blocked the fuel depots in 2000 - Result - Nothing

The only way we would stop this is if EVERYONE in the uk Stopped using thier car for a week. That will never happen.

Lets have an uprising like Cairo or Bharian etc, that'll sort it

Even a day would suffice.

TBH Viney, I can see some sort of uprising on the cards before long, but then so do a lot of people and it never happens. We as a nation would far rather bury our heads like an Ostrich and go put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea....because as we all know...

correct hit them where it hurts.

butttttt if the gov dont get the revenue then we as a nation are up the river without a paddle. the country is in so much debt that prices are high just to keep our heads out the water. so we either support our nation or sink with it. yes its hard but so was the 70's/80's. the only problem we have just now is that everyone is used to a standard of living and the gov is threatening that so we moan and scream at out TV sets. we are a nation of consumerisim and when we cant have our new toy we throw the old ones out the pram.

what i think the people should do is start telling the gov to stop giving money to other country's that dont need it. charity starts at the home first and foremost. we are in bigggg troubble right now but the gov still give money away like there is plenty to go around.

Unfortunately the british Govt deems lending out money to other nations as a long term investment....the money does not actually exist...its all done by contract...

Step1 - find a poor country and offer them a loan, hopefully they agree at a ridiculous interest rate. To pay the loan back the poor country will tax its already poor inhabitants saying they need to pay back original loan.

Step2 - The Uk doesnt actually have the money to lend in the first place, sooo Britain takes out a loan at an agreed lower interest rate, so that theoretically we are earning a commision as the middle man. We then hike tax's & duty's to apparently pay for the loan. Knowing that we will possibly never be in a position to pay back the entire amount, so in essence creating a loop which every so often we keep extending , almost like taking out a second mortgage.

Step3 - Create a movement which seems to be in the public interest to apease the situation eg. Fair Fuel....make the public think that by agreeing to not increase or stabilise fuel for a short period, they are actually accepting the absurd prices that are in existance at the pumps today as acceptable.

I know this is all conspiracy theory but the older i get the more i start to think that we are all still in slavery, and that everything we watch, read or hear is some sort of neuro-linguistic brainwashing.

anyway back to Dickinsons real deal I do like the Mahogany prince:smt040
