I have the Desire HD, and I loves it. the massive screen is great for browsing the web, playing games etc. the camera is decent and the video quality is great. the battery life is, however, pants.

Taking on board what SK has said and doing a bit of google work I am going to wait for the HTC sensation.

I've had the HTC Hero for about 18 months now & haven't any real issues other than it does, on the odd occasion freeze, but the usual switch off, switch on does the job. I work in the construction industry & the screen has very very few scratches on, it's one of the best I've had for that.
The usual Android OS does the job nicely & I would have another one

As said, there are about 2 criteria to worry about and from there its what you want it to do.

If someone WANTS me to chose one for them, the closest they will get is steered to a choice of one or two with a personal preference expressed then sent on their way to make their choice :)

One thing tho, pretty much any recommended list of phones from me WOULD include the Xperia Arc.

Oh and another, I personally dont think that Dual-Core Phone CPUs are THAT much of an improvement over Single-Core, but I look forwards to alternative, reasoned views :)

Ohhh that looks good. As I'll be forced to keep the phone for at least two years getting the latest thing makes some sense.

Dual core is the way ahead and will be the thing to have.

I have a motorola defy which is perfectly acceptable and more than enough. Much cheaper than a top spec but allied to its durability tag offers excellent value. Not slow either.

Why tho?

Its not like Phones are doing loads of things at once that are CPU intensive, in some cases 1 faster core may be better than 2 slower ones.

I am not familiar enough with the CPU usage of phones to be sure, but weas hoping for an answer that didnt essentially say "its one more so its better"

HTC Wildfire. It does plenty for me. Regardless of what SK says. For me I am more than happy to wait for the technology to get cheap before buying. I upgrade each time, just a year or two behind the mainstream and for a lot cheaper as well.

I am no expert either but phones need to multitask just as much as a PC IMO, maybe even more so.

If I am listening to music, and running another app and then the phone rings it sometimes crashes causing me to lose the call.
