Seems pretty expensive given it's only a half day and you only appear to get three sessions on track. I appreciate bike hire is included but you can hire a track bike from someone like Focused Events for similar money and get a full days riding. I guess the classroom and instruction is valuable, but you could do an IAM skills day for far less and come away with specific skills aimed at your road riding as well.

Don't forget that you can use their gear too!

Sometimes it's not all about transference of skills to your road riding. I can fully appreciate learning skills for the road and using them to make you a better rider and for that something like an IAM skills day would be fine for those who want to do that, but there are a load of other skills to be learned. All over the country there are training schools teaching things like off-roading, racing and things like speedway or flat-track. Each has their merits, but due to the specialised nature do tend to be costly to attend.

Hiring a bike at a trackday is a good idea if you are worried about stacking your own, but even with an instructor showing you the way round you don't get the intensive training and very useful classroom stuff that something like Ron Haslam's school gives.

It didn't rain!!!!

Had a great time - knocked a huge amount off my laptimes over the 4 sessions (Elite but 600) - Got down from a 1:40 to a 1:28 which I was very happy with, should have been even faster in session 4 but my concentration was starting to go and I kept making mistakes (run off area on Club straight has its uses!).

Knee down in quite a few places..Stowe, Vale, Village and The Link.... Note all right handers, left slider still untouched.....
