Wow, very different results than I expected to be honest, thanks for the generous replies tho, I have to say I use a hell of a lot of engine braking, weather what that guy said was true, that it uses less fuel, I do a lot of engine braking. Can't really think of any other fuel efficient ways i ride,I'm not that heavy I suppose, all about power to weight and I weigh 9 stone Haha, probably more with my leathers and rucksack with gear :/ but I can't see that knocking 10 miles if you with more, any other knowledge people can share?

I'm a fat bugger, so I got the lot working against my economy, lost weight years ago, best performance mod I ever made!! Put it all back on now though!!

Right, after starting this thread doing 200 miles on a tank, the next tank I did I leathered it most places, waited until it was at least 30 degrees before I set off and also laboured it quite a lot, today the fuel light came on at 140 miles, this was with city driving and fast motorway driving, just thought I'd post this update, gona be doing another long mile drive on Sunday so ill post about that too, I'm gona give it a go doing 60 all the way, to get the most out of my bike, should be interesting

Muahaha beat it with 76.4mpg this weekend, think it MIGHT have something to do with a massive tailwind, used about 8.5 litres in 146 miles....pretty happy with that, should ride in galeforce conditions more often!

Best, 58.9mpg giving estimated range over 200 miles.

Most smiles per mile... about 28mpg... From absolutely brimmed as brimmed can be to running completely dry... 101 miles.
