I pointed this thread out to Hongman to see if he could be of any assistance :)

Ninja from the South reporting in. I translated it to Chinese for you.

十八的空白,變硬,它的刀片。這涉及到8分鐘然後quenche在油中加熱至1050攝氏。立即回火90分 鐘,在烘箱中在180攝氏然後,所有你需要做的是使小刀。

Hope this helps.

It reads in English roughly as:

"Shape the blade from the blank and harden it. This involves heating it to 1050 celcius for 8 minutes then quenche in oil. Now temper in the oven at 180 celcius for 90 minutes. Then all you need to do is make the pocket knife up."

:D

Sorry to derail, but
a) Does Chinese (Mandarin?) not have symbols for numbers?
b) Is there not a word for "quench" in Chinese?

Just curious (about everything).

Thanks

A) Yes there are numbers in Chinese, all forms.

B) Probably - but I used Google translate because I'm too lazy.

Ah, ok, I thought you had actually translated it yourself. So if you do know Chinese, can you suggest why Google didn't translate the digits or do Chinese numbers not get formed like a western number (possibly like Russian spoken plurals)?

Haha, hell no. I am Chinese but I have long forgotten how to write it. Did my Chinese GCSE's at 16 and never touched it since. It's not like English where you can learn to spell or pronounce words, and pretty much never forget how to do it.

Dunno why Google doesn't pick up numbers though.

Must just be a how google translate works.

If you type in One Two Three... it works.

If you type in 1234 it replicates 1234

Enough dereail now. BP, show us your tool then!
