OP: The oil pressure switch is at the front of the engine below the starter motor, when looking from the front of the bike it's immediately to the left of the oil filter, it's roughly circular about 1" or so in diameter, is under a rubber cover and has one wire going to it. Displace the cover, undo the cross-head screw and disconnect the wire then switch the ignition on - DO NOT start the engine.
If the oil light stays on, then there is a wiring fault or possibly a fault in the instruments themselves.
If the oil light is stays off, then there is either a fault with the switch and it's giving you a heart attack for no reason, or it's telling the truth and there really is little or no oil pressure.
Don't run the engine AT ALL until the fault is identified - I suspect you already know this.
If the light stays on with the switch wire disconnected then there's probably nothing wrong with the engine and you could run it, but have it attended to as soon as possible or preferably sooner - the engine is reliant on oil pressure in order for it to not break very seriously indeed, and the oil pressure light is vital in telling you very important things you really need to know.

One very important point about the oil level.You simply must be able to check this.If you cant see the glass because the fairing is in the way,get the fairing off and keep it off so you can check this regularly.It is something that should really be checked every day you use the bike until you are familiar with how it uses oil, or not.Then maybe weekly will do.The cost of not learning how to do this is often a new engine.Not cheap.A quick search on this forum will reveal numerous threads where this has happened get that sorted first.

If for whatever reason this cant/wont happen, then look into fault finding.
