hahahahaha yeah right.... I noticed a bit better performance cos I wasnt slamming my brakes on cos everything could hear me rather than any major noticeable performance differance...
actually Ive got the same performance differance by having the carbs balanced that I got from the can... it feels different but not majorly... |
i've had a zxr750 with a micron race pipe, a vmax with twin free flow kerkers, and the sv with an a16 race can. i have never been stopped by the fuzz and i ride past the local station most days! they're not really that bothered by loud cans unless they have a bad day. normally you'll just get pulled for riding like a tit, and then the can is an additional slap on the wrists.
as for the insurance, im with motorcycle direct and they said a can didnt matter, only a full system, as a can doesn't normally realease enough extra power to be classed as a performance upgrade. i think it has to be something like a 10% increase in power. dan |
You told your insurance co about an undertray??!?!?!
Blimey. Mods I've done... Braided brake lines Replaced the fork springs with ohlins, and changed oil weight GSX-R1000 rear shock Scotoiler Hamicad fender eliminator DB Screen Heated grips Solo seat cowl Ermax undertray Front fender extender and of course, new can Think thats everything :? I'm with AXA though Motorcycle direct... I asked about cans when I got my road legal, and they said I mustn't have a removeable baffle, even if its e-marked :o |

but to be honest... the police look at me when I go by but Ive never been pulled with the can on...v    |
When asked if I'd modified anything I just listed everything I could think of, even including crash bungs, screen etc.
If my insurance don't like my removable baffle I'll have to change insurers, no way am I buying another can! Where is it? they said 2-5 days at the show, that was 9 days ago! |

Can you change insurers midway though the year without insurance penalties? :?
Perhaps I should just but my standard can back on  |

After an accident, yes. Although that still doesnt completely eliminate the chance of being caught out by my insurance co, and subsiquent penalites (if any). Which is why I want to know what they could be :?

Im not aware they can/do check what youve done to a bike unless you tell them and the only time it matters to them is when youre claiming...
so... I dont think theres any way you will get caught and Im not aware of any penalties other than them refusing to pay out in an accident... but.... its better to be safer than sorrier... |
