Not sure what a tractor silencer looks like but I rebuilt an old slipon can for my CB500 four a while back.

If you have access to a lathe and some ali tubing it should not be too difficult to make one from scratch.
The cost would be noware near the price these cans are selling for.

It's you! I read about your bike in the magazine, whenever it was, a while ago I seem to remember, nice work with the Honda, an interesting approach to the renovation of a useable machine.

PS I know what you mean about the 'brakes', another disc would be an excellent move if possible.

Whilst we're at it, has anyone else made up any unusual bits for their SV?!

I'm sure everyone knows why I don't buy a Harley, even Harley riders make fun of them. In my small town of 4100 people, we have about 20 Harleys, 2 BMWs (both of them closs friends of mine) 1 crotch rocket, and of course, 1 SV. I'm embarassed for all the yuppies who can't make a decision for themselves.

OK, enough Harley bashing! Remember 85% of them are still on the road. The other 15% made it home. :lol:

It took the best part of a day if I remember correct, most of the time was spent making a bracket to hold the silencer inlet and headers together.

I've still got the bike although I haven't used it since I got the SV just didn't fancy another strip down to cure the oil leaks, well it was about twenty years since the first strip down! And the old fashioned rubber and tubes to put up with.

The SV certainly goes, stops and handles far better than the old CB, it's even more economical with the gas.
The only area that the CB is better is with low speed handling, despite having a claimed weight of 448lbs it feels less top heavy and looks small compared with the SV.

With group nine insurance and a price of 4k its a big bang for your buck/pound.
