I declared my road legal CCC can to Equity Red Star through Devitts. I stated a negligible power increase of perhaps 3-4bhp max (as informed by CCC). There was no problem providing it was BS marked and no increase in premium or admin fee to add to policy.
Insurance companies will only tend to replace cans will standard exhaust in event of a claim which really isn't an issue as they are more expensive than aftermarkets anyway. The baffle did fall out shortly after fitting, but the CCC db killer easilly fits under the rear seat so I tend to carry it about with me just incase. Regards, |
I think the insurance thing is a bit of a red herring .As I see it,the insurer would have to show that the exhaust was a contributary factor in the claim,if they wanted to void your policy. Its hard to think of an accident caused by an exhaust, unless it falls off and hits someone?

thanks for all your input to this thread,
i dont really think the police are that worried about can's,but as i now have one,a small plate and a black visor aint that 9 points? i once phoned eagle star about a race back box on a car, they told me they would refuse to insure me if i fitted one! so i did anyway and just didnt tell them! insurance is the biggest legal kind of theft know to man,if it has insurnace in its title you are being robbed! THE THEIFING GIPSY *******S! daz |
I don't think you can get points for those - only fines. I may be wrong, though.

If you get picked up for just say the number plate, then that would be a £30, if there was more than one offence then that would mean that either the officer uses his/her discretion and only gives you a ticket for one thing or reports you for summons for the whole lot..that means that its then the courts discretion what they give you....my advice is dont get caught or dont do anything that would warrant being pulled over... |

if you have a loud can i would avoid the small plate as there were about 10 of us going for a ride one morning all had race cans and we went past a copper parked in the layby (not fast) as soon as we past out he came blues and two's and only pulled the one up who had a small plate let the rest of us go, same happened in wales came round a corner there were 4 of us 3 with cans and there were coppers in another layby they only pulled the ones with small plates, as for insurance most people only insure their bike TPFT so if you crashed your bike you would'nt be getting money for your bike anyway
