Except yours must be totally black, cos you went past me like Billy Whiz this morning on the M27 .......or were you just ignoring me

I saw you and waved with my leg.
I wasn't going that quick, though, you were just dawdling.
I only had 40 odd miles to home, and needed another cup of tea.

I agree with making black visors something you can only wear in daytime, and I would agree with telling people off if it's obviously a day when they're not a great idea, but on a bright day they are a very good thing and I find them necessary.

I have to ride trough some poorly lit underpasses on the journey from work and when I have my shades on it makes it very dark and I usually don't wear them for that part of the journey and then pull over and put them on later which quite frankly is a pain in the ****, at least with a tinted visor I can just lift the thing up when in the tunnels.

I agree there are times when using one is stupid just like when wearing sunglasses or in fact having tinted windows on your car, I will carry a clear visor with me as swapping visors in only slightly more hassle than taking of my glasses.

What you lot forget is that there is a small minority of riders who spoil it for the majority. These are the ones that will go out without a claer visor then ride home in the dusk/night whilst wearing them. Its those people that stop the tints become law!

Also, there was recently a government white paper on the subject i believe. After extensive testing, it was proved that there was no saftey improvement in wearing a tinted visor.

I still go with sunglasses thank you very much!

So just make it legal to wear a dark visor if you've got a clear visor with you

Again, that would be a good point. But people wont will they. Bikers are thier own worst enemy simple as that.

I can't really see the problem. If you cause an accident because you're riding a night with a dark visor then it's obvious you were being dangerous.

The law banning dark visor makes about as much sense as the law on spare wheels. As in you're allowed to drive a car with no spare wheel, but you're not allowed to drive a car with a spare wheel with an illegal tread, incase you're tempted to use it.

It's especialy stupid when you can legaly ride a bike with no lights on a daytime MOT. Whats worse being caught at night with?! At least you CAN change your visor.

Pre-emptively charging people with crimes is stupid - it's like arresting someone for murder because they own a kitchen knife.

Oh, as for the government white paper... would you trust anything the government says?!

I just think this debate has gone on for years. Its never going to be won, so why waste energy over it time and time again. Most of you biker scum have race cans fitted, yet you dont let that seem to worry you, so just wear your tinted visors and quit ya whinging.
