Already been done

In which case please ignore my suggestion. Never having to have to undent a tank I assume it is ok if tank is well flushed before?. Also what about tacking a stud to the dent and pulling it out. again flushing before welding, ensuring that tank is not sealed etc.

Find a friendly garage or repair shop. Normally they should have a balloon & compressed air affair. See if they can push most of the dent out.

Never tried it myself, as the only time I needed it the tank was completely creased, so had to be replaced anyway.

If there are any creases in the tanks then the metal will be weakened along the crease (bend it once to put the dent in, and a second time to take the dent out.)

Take advice from the garage if they think it will still be OK to use.
