Bikeageboy, it's possible it's not getting enough juice if you've wired it into the stock loom- I found if I tried to connect the FIAMMs I use direct instead of replayed, they made a sort of wet fart noise :)

i dunno- alot of people on the CBR website say that its fine with the standard loom.

|They'd know more about it then me :) Does the CBR have a good stock horn then?

I'm thinking of attaching the magnum to the caphead screw on the frame on the left hand side and leaving the old horn there and fiddling witht he connectors, but then it'll look like a dogs dinner.

Stupid Stebel!

mmm... same problem!!! It arrived two days ago, but I didn't have time until this morning, I saw the gap, looked to the siebel, looked again to the gap... mmmmm.... bu***r!!! does not fit!!! ](*,)

Plus I have the full fairing.... I'm going to have to unscrew all the pannels, try different places and screw them back!! ARg!!! ](*,)

That screw in the frame that holds all the wiring looks as a good candidate.... maybe next weekend... I am at work now.

The Stebel Magnum can be located inside the righthand fairing. You can do it without removing any of the fairing panels. When you look at where the radiator cap is, you can see metal fairing support framework with holes drilled along it. You can use one of the holes to attach the fixing plates the magnum comes with.

Process should be:

You will need to attach an additional bit of wire to the horn as the standard horn connectors will not reach. Attach the two metal plates to the back of the Magnum. Situate the horn inside the right hand side of the fairing using a small nut and bolt. Do it up hand tight only. Move handlebars left and right to ensure the magnum clears the steering damper. Then tighten horn fixing plate to the fairing framework.

You can then run the wires back to the original connector (cable tying it to the fairing framework, and use crimped spaded lugs to push into the original connector. Stick some insulation tape around the join, and the jobs done.

You will find that the original connector will pass over the top of the rad, and by using crimped spaded lugs, you can just disconnect the magnum and re-install the original horn as the original connectors will still be there.

PS Helps if you have small hands!

On a curvey model it'll go right where the original was. The connectors just need seperating and will clip right on.

On a pointy I dunno, I don't have one of those...
