I don't know how the Me 262 got to Jo'burg, but once there it won't corrode. At that altitude there's very little moisture and precious little salt ;)

South African Airways had a Junkers Ju-52 that used to do air tours. We used to see it flying over our house when I was a kid.

Ohh...the Ju-52...very,very slow and very,very low. It's cruising speed is slower than a SV!!!There are some still flying in the UK.

Having read this (as well as the other couple of posts) where this topic crops up, I would just like to say the following :-

The SADF was part of the legal defence system that every nation has the right to 'posess'. The 'rights' & 'wrongs' of the regime that controlled it should not be an issue. Do those of you who accuse Burner of being 'evil' also condemn all Iraqi's who served in the forces under Saddam Hussein ?

The ANC, PAC & SWAPO were illegal, paramilitary, terrorist organisations - just because the cause they were fighting for is considered just by many does not change this fact. Lets remember the old adage "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter'. In parts of N Ireland all British soldiers are considered 'evil' because they serve the 'corrupt & evil' British Government. So, would you also condemn them ?

Personally, I hope that should my country ever be threatened I would have the courage to serve / defend it - the forces is not my choice of career by the way.
