No,no let's not get I to the ridiculous! Buell my a+se! Cloggsy go have a look of the pic that Shooter posted of his Monster! That is a wicked looking bike. Also you would enjoy adding bits and bobs like he has to individualise it. Effing great ride also plus if your game...a wheelie toy! 8)

I don't even want to be seen near one, never mind own one. I'm sure they're good bikes and all, but they just look so stupid...

You know you want a Tuono... But if you want something a bit more sensible (sine you're looking Multistrada-wards) then the Falco's a winner IMO. There's only 4 bikes in the world I'd buy just now- a Hornet, another carbed SV, a KTM Duke II, or a Falco.

TUONO......my choice

Noooooooo... That's definitely been hit twice with the ugly stick.

Those Tuonos are a bit tasty right enough.

Here, Northwind, why only a carbed SV?
I think Cloggsy is not feeling the KTM buzz any more. I'd get a Hornet. They have that sort of beast look about them. And the undertrays look really well on them. They seem to always have really nice colours too. (Which is the main thing obviously 8))
And you wouldnt feel bad about modding the crap out of it. (I would be scared to touch the Tuono. Like going into a posh restaraunt and asking for ketchup or something. Some Italien guy who knows more about elegant lines than you do will be rolling his eys and shaking his head. For shame.)

I love em

or you could consider a reliable suits all bike like a TDM 900

servicing costs are not what you would expect and the frequency is a lot less than some of your jap 4 cyls

cloggsy there is a thread on hartside com comparing servicing costs for ducati versus gixer owner surprisingly the duc costs less

But surely he would be doing the same mileage on a jap bike so if a Duke costs more per service than your average jap bike then he still will pay more over all, the fact that those costs would be spread over a long time makes no odds as the Jap bike services would also be spread over a long time. Unless of course the service intervals for the Duke are longer.

Personally I don't like the style.

The MultiStrada handles like a dream but has a real dog of an engine. It also has the world's most uncomfortable seat.

Wait for the new Triumph Tiger!

Honestly I love em really

I had the great pleasure of riding one up and down hartside (what a nice guy to loan me it) It is a very similar feel to the TDM indeed. the multistrada having the edge on steering quickly and the suspension as standard is obviously better than the TDM.

servicing intervals AFAIK are every 6K as opposed to say a gixers 3.5k and parts are not as dear as you would expect.

And parts are very cheap mostly.

Pair cam belts: £26 every 6-12k miles depending upon the bike
Oil filter £3.50 (£12 on my SV650)
Fuell filter: £7 (£33 on the Triumph)
Indicator: £8
Air filters are washable on some ducati's

Service intervals every 6k miles except the more trick R spec bikes.
some jobs are not home jobs like the valves (unless you have the time and equipment to adjust).
