Ruts are getting more and more common on roads in Essex, i'm getting sick of it, glad you and wallet are reasonably ok Paul.. Think i'm gonna take a camera out with me when i'm off in a few weeks and get photo's of all the ruts on the roads I use day in day out and just how many 2-3 inch wide ruts there are and send em in

You mentioned that you have negotiated that roundabout previously on your GSX in the past? As you mentioned this time you went through more sedately and chose a different line. But if you were familiar with the roundabout did you not know this "rut" was there?

Oh, you are a sneaky one aren't you :wink: No, I went through the roundabout on my way to the dealers, first time I've been on it. I didn't notice the rut first time round as I was on the inside (closer to the roundabout) of it. The truth is, if the rut wasn't there the bike would have been OK. But good question :lol:

Didn't manage to get a pic today as it was raining so hard I don't think it would have shown up so going to have to get it next weekend. I got a poor picture on my phone from some distance away (about 15 - 20 foot - I didn't want to get run over). It's difficult to scale it but you can see the roundabout kerb is lower than the width of the rut - need to get a tape measure.

balky....My question was not meant in any way to deflect from the obvious poor condition of the road surface at the roundabout. :wink:

Yes, I was in Granada last September - beautiful mountain roads. Just warm those tyres up first (damn, did I just give something away unintentionally there :wink: :lol: - subtle!)

I had to do the same when I took a Speed Triple on test ride from a Triumph dealer. I'm suprised that it's not the same for all Triumph dealers.
