But is buying it back really worth it ??
So I'd have to get 2 upper fork legs, a triple clamp and headstock (all on the "replace" list). I did think about a GSXR front end, but on reflection I can't see the point. If it was going to be my main bike then perhaps. I'd then still need to convert it to take conventional bars rather than clip ons... Maybe I could find a Minitwins racer that had a stock front end for sale ?? Then there's the ignition switch and loom, that looks pretty complicated. New Clocks (they are over £200!) The straight forward stuff: Rear Brake lever Front Brake lever Headlamps Can (I already have the Remus that went on the day it went over) Basically, I reckon it would cost me the best part of a grand to put it back together, I can't see the point in using 2nd had parts, the bike's brand new, so I'd want to keep it that way. Matbe this is fates way of telling me that I shouldn't have gone back to an SV in the first place.... Now, maybe a GSX1400 ??? (Only joking...) ........ |

were you fully comp or third party? if fully comp youd get a payout would you not? thought aout writing to the consil if it was dielsel all over the road, if it was a big spill and they knew about it then you may have a case

If you did go GSXR, chances are you could get the barrel and key with it. It's connector should fit the SV too but that's immaterial. It needs a headstock. :( Then it's bye-bye really. |
Sorry to hear about your off and the cost of repair.
I didn't realise as I do not go the the Soho section. It gutted me to see the pics of the Bike as it was, as others have said, 1 of the best looking K5 Nakeds. I can remember seeing it when you 1st posted it and thinking it looked real cool. It is hard to understand how the cost can mount up when visually it looks like 25% of the Bike needs replacing but the cost is more like 75% of the Bike in the 1st. place. I remember reading in MCN about 4 - 6 weeks ago about it being possible to claim for accidents caused through deisel spills. Maybe you could enquire about this. Hope it all works out for you. |
oh my god jelster!! only just seen this post! your nekkid was a bute :( sorry to hear about your off, hope your ok.

The 2004/5 Speed Triple is a different matter....... Headstock - the top is badly scratched from where the keyring was forced against it. It's not structural, just cosmetic. ....... |
