Don't know why so many people take offence at the Hornet, they're the IL4 SV in a lot of ways- cheap for what they are, bags of basic, effective fun... Great bikes IMO. |

And yes Hornets are great bikes. I guess people are just messing about (as I am) but I this is an SV site so I guess people will defend the SV's honour. |
Seems to happen all over, though... On Visordown a lot of the most vehement SV haters are Hornet owners, and vice versa. It's as though we're both jealous of the other bike's good bits :)

Mean I can pipe down a bit if he stays   He's right about the brakes, though. The OEM Honda pads are better than many aftermarket items. Most Hornet owners stick with the OEM pads  |

I love it at the .org and will never stray. Been a member of some other bike forums and some are full of real idiots harping on about hwo they did 150mph in 1st gear while doing a wheelie and then reading a map (torque stylee). At least here I'm the idiot! |
SV Dan's bike is ace! The only problem with it is the exhaust is too quiet and the keys are soft.
Back on topic, the SV is also aimed at beginners so the brakes won't be mega sharp or they'll overwhelm the rider. Plus beginners don't know what good brakes are!! |
Braided hoses on the SV will lessen the spongyness and increase feel.
The biggest thing I noticed after riding a 600RR and then getting back on the SV was the suspension. I had to stop to check if my tyres had gone flat   Still love my SV to bits though despite its boingyness. My Bro bought a brand new Hornet a few months ago, cracking little bike ! :D |
You could get a ZX-6R B1... and then complain the suspensions too hard!
