but it will be better or not, Mr. I-think-I-am-always-better-with-Brembo?

It's not machined-from-billet-by-virgins, so it might as well be a drum brake.

I don't honestly know about the CBR one ... I was deeply unimpressed by the Tokico radial used on the current GSXRs, but by and large Honda spec theirs well so it's probably a good part. Remember, the stock carbed SV one was still standard GSXR fitment at least until 2000, and maybe after (not sure on that) so you need to be careful that you're not replacing like with like. You'd not be the first :)

mine is 1999 and it says Nissin, I have just checked it. I thought Suzuki used Tokico? do I have already an other MC? Or am I not thinking straight anymore and do I have to go to bed...

New GSXR is Tokico (eh, I think) but not SV.

Northy, slightly off topic but what calipers would you suggest for a non-radial gsxr upgrade? You say that gsxr upto 2000 (and poss after) are same as carbed sv calipers, which ones would give better braking performance?

isn't the master cylinder of the SV an 5/8" (16mm) in diameter?
so I should be looking for a 16mm MC, but there aren't many out there

unless there is one with a shorter brake lever (if you know what I mean) that will compensate the loss of braking power.
