Trained as an Automotive Engineer, studied for qualifications in the subject, always worked in that field since graduating. Now work for an oil additive company, but the job mainly involves liaison with European/Asian automotive manufacturers so I never left my roots.

Still loving it - lots of interesting challenges and I work with great people.

Cheers Keith

Re: How many?

Didn't train for anything - started life as a Civil Servant - left to go travelling in the States - found work sailing rich men's boats for them - headhunted into working for a charter company - headhunted again into racing a rich man's boat - came back to the UK for a holiday - ended up working as Stage Manager for a production of The King & I - fell back into acting (I'd done am-dram in my teens) started telling people I was an actor (they believed me !!) did some auditions - offered a role in The Rocky Horror Show - spent the next few years in Musical Theatre, before ending up working as a singer on cruise ships - quit in 1999 - worked as freelance sound engineer for a couple of years - now working in Business Continuity within the defence industry.

So, to save you reading all the above - the answer to the original question is - NO !!

Re: How many?

I spent 3 years in an apprenticeship to become a mechanic and now after 10 years I'm still in the trade and with the same company. Went through a period a few years back where I considered leaving for a completely different trade, but glad I never now as I'm loving my work again. ;)
