SV1000S - Yes, I am biased on that one ;)
ZX6R - J1/J2/A1P models. They are nice and really comfortable, so much I'd consider them a sport tourer. Yamaha Thundercat - Nice all rounder I'm told Triumph TT-600 - A lot of bike for not a lot of money. I believe the daytona 600 & 650 have the same riding position, but I never sat or ridden one of those. So many bikes, so little money  |

Traitor - I'm not talking to you anymore. ;)

Re: The time has come......
Don't think a Daytona is particularly suitable for a passenger. I certainly wouldn't like to be perched on the back of mine. There's nothing to hold onto, and the seat is too small. The riding position however is at the less extreme end though, and I can see more than just my elbows in the mirrors.
I like Multistradas, mate Karl has one - it's a terrific bike once you get used to the bag of spanners sound. |

As some of you know, when I bought the 'Blade I'd actually been for a test on the VFR and was going to buy a new one.... Until I saw that beautiful red machine sitting in the window, and had a change of heart. It was 2 years old with only 3k on the clock, and this is by far the longest I have kept any bike. If I was still riding as much as I was before I probably wouldn't change either. I've had just over 2 years and added another 15k in that time, half the mileage I was doing 2 years ago.... However, I've made the decision, and the bike is in the garage, stripped of it's fairings, waiting for a serious clean. I've just replaced the headstock bearings, put on a new chain & sprockets (dropped a tooth on the front too), and had a major service. I need to replace the rear tyre, two hours of 120mph to reach the ferry in time took it's toll on the rubber, and then I'll return it to stock. Again, I've stripped down to make sure I don't ride it for a while, my next 3 weekends are already taken up, and I'm taking the car to Magny Cours for the final WSB race of the season... It should be ready for sale by the end of the month, and I'll look at getting something in January. |
