We can have the dealers ootseed the school gates...oh...they are there already...supply and demand...the benchmark of capitalism.

Anyway...Darwinism is not the survival of the fittest...that Fascism...but survival of the spieces which can best live in its environment....Survival of the more capable.

Hmmm this is a tough one. Yeah I do agree that fat people are a burden in some situations. Try working in 60'C heat lugging heavy objects over a mile out to an aircraft. Guess what happens to the fat ones... But that is purely to do with my work!
However if you can be fat and do a job that you dont need to be fit for... fair play. You will die sooner anyway and no longer be a burden on society. ;-)

Just back from my 14 mile run. I really enjoyed it, I love the feeling of pounding heart, bursting lungs and legs feeling like they're about to give way under me.

I think I just found a solution to the problem:D

Yes Ed there a re a few of us on here that agree wit hyou that exercise is the best way to not put on weight, i too love the feeling of beng knackered in the Gym doing weights or running.

unfortunatly there are far to many lazy people in our society who cant be bothered or find excuses not to do any exercise then wonder why they get fat from sitting at a desk all day.

there is no secret to being in shape heat what you want in moderation, and exersice reguarly.

again a lot of people give up at the first hurdle or when they break into a sweat.

Not only that, it has something to do with winners and losers. The schools cannot promote "losers".

I don't have kids, but on my beat area I have 2 primary schools, and they've stopped sports days, got too much of a problem with insurance etc.

But when they did have them, every kid had to have a prize, otherwise the little darling would feel left out, and MIGHT be emotionally scarred for life if they get banded a "LOSER", - quote from head teacher - quoting local council advice on sportsdays.

I work in a school. I see forst hand just what has happened to the education system in the 8 years since I left compulsory education.

Remember writing lines in front of the headmaster's office? CAN'T DO THAT ANYMORE. Instead the kids are sent to what in my school is called the "Refocus Room" (recently renamed from "Withdrawl Room" as it wasn't Hippy enough) to "realign their attention and direction towards learning". What this means is they play flash games on the internet while the supervising member of staff talks on their mobile phone to their husband or wife.

Shouting at kids in class? NO, SORRY! NO SHOUTING. We have a card system like a f*cking football referee. "Are you refusing to follow my instructions? Yellow card!"

Makes me want to... Well... I'm on a school PC so let's just leave that there.

Politicians are spinning away saying they're putting more money into facilities, that they're introducing more than two hours of PE per week into the curriculum and banning junk food, yet they've completely missed (or more likely, choose to side track) the five real reasons:

As a slim and fit 45 year old father of four - who grew up in the 60s and 70s - I wholeheartedly agree with every single word written.
