Trust me its not any easy option at all! My brigade had 4k applicants for approx 12 positions.

Don't worry, I intend to stick with the Chemistry. I love it too much - I think I got annoyed with lecturers last year, and annoying students. This year I enjoy it alot again, like I did in my first and second year. Plus I'm riding the bike every day, which is always great :D

I won't be struggling with any fire hoses just yet

Graeme, what did you study?

Going into my dream job in April 08 so until then, wishing the days away. Absolutely killing me at the moment as there is little work on so I am just trawling the net, or re-writing things I have written a million times.

Poop.

What you gonna do for job when you switch? I went through exactly the same thing, I changed jobs its working out at the moment bloody hard work and lots of hours.

March 06 I knew I had the job I wanted, then I had to wait for 9 months before I could start. I was doing I job I hated so I quit told the boss to stuff his job up his ****.:D So I went freelance and temped for the rest of the year then went travelling! 11 months on still working hard, was gutted early this year ending up in hosptal but it all seems to be work out now!

If you don't like what you do and can change go for it! Don't be unhappy. Though they are some days where it just goes all wrong and is a bad day but that norm with any job even you passion! Good Luck.

I make CGI for feature film and love it. The pay is pretty good, hours aren't too bad, you don't have to wear a suit + with a bit of experience, you can work all around the world!

You may think that it's a difficult industry to get into, but all the companies will have entry level positions as Runners and if you work hard then I have known runners to progress to junior 2D and 3D positions after a few months. Just depends how keen you are and how busy the company is really. At the moment there is a lot of work about town.

Here are the big 4 in London:

http://www.dneg.com/
http://www.cinesite.com/
http://www.framestore-cfc.com/

Plus there is a whole load more doing film and TV work as well.

Just some food for thought, someone might be interested!

Thanks
Luke

I did a degree in something most people probably wouldnt think of. 80% of people will have a negative stereotypical view of the role that results from my degree........*Dragons Dens Voice* 'and for that reason' ....... I'm not going to say *End/Dragons Den Voice*

Who's unhappy in their current role? And what are you going to do about it?
