Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
Dude, you need to ask if the V5 is present, if it isn't then it should alarm bells.
When your there ask to see it, and make the frame number matches the one on the V5 and do a HPI check before you buy. If there is no V5 and there is no reasonable answer for that walk, away. Also if for any reason the V5 doesn't match the bike in any way, walk away. You don't want to end up with a cloned/stolen bike, becasue it will be taken off you, should that be found out. I know someone who had a £30k merc taken off them for that. I hope the bike is sweet and enjoy. |
Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
Write down all the questions you want answers to. Leave space between the questions so that you can write notes.
Tick off the questions as he provides the answers, he may elaborate and answer some of your questions without you having to specifically ask them. So don't ask them again. If you can record the conversation. If all seems ok you have to go see. If you go by public transport, get a return ticket as you will be more inclined to walk away if it's not what you want. Perhaps someone on here would be prepared to give it the once over. Just looking at the simple stuff, no specialist skills needed. |
Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
Hovis,
If you can get yourself to Salisbury train station, I think it's straight through from Cardiff, I'd be more than happy to pick you up from there and drive you to Bournemouth. Weekends may be a bit difficult at the moment but I'm sure we could sort something? My brother just travelled from South Devon to Chester to buy a bike, about 4 hours each way I think! If it's a good un it's worth it! |
Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
im hoping to get a lift down,im going to phone him later, thanx for the offer of the lift andy, if i cant sort anything out i will let you know.
the bike looks good, i hope to find out a bit more later, its just a bit of a trek if its not up to scratch, but we will see there does not seem to be many of these bikes about, as im being quite specific, im not in a great rush, just thinking it may be cheaper to buy b4 the summer comes (i found one in heathrow last night, a few more miles less "extras" and £100 more) thanx |

Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
It's nothing to do with need Hovis. I don't need a new bike in the summer just like I don't need 2 bikes, but guess what? That's what I wan't so that's what I'm doing!
Good luck with the purchase and I hope Boris doesn't take it too bad! |
Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
just got off the phone with him,i asked about the bike & he said which one? so i thought he may be a dealer, but he said he is also selling his moto-x bike, he said he has had the blade 3 years.
he's not willing to drop the price, & he said he dropped it at 5mph small scratch on tail, which has been touched up. crash bung saved the rest, 3 owners |
Re: e-mailing about buying a bike
I have just advertised a car on another forum. And got asked how much for cash?
As a private sale I expect cash, do people offer this so self employed people can avoid some tax? |
