I've been thinking of doing this to my micron. As far as I can tell, I don't have a removable baffle, or if I do, it was long gone by the time I got the bike.. So I'm a bit worried about cutting off a few inches and having it too loud and not being able to do anything about it :confused:

I did this to my sv1000 cans!! isnt stainless a bitch to drill :-) like you say getting the ends back in and the straps around the end with the new stainless rivets in is a pain, it sounds evil with the baffles out :smt096

Just gone and had a look at mine.. here's a couple of pics. To me (and I don't know a thing ;)) it looks like a bit too much work to cut this down, or is it doable?

It screws in from the end, not on the sides of the can itself.

That looks like it would be more difficult, purely because of the way the end fits.:(
