However not too bad........Have discovered that my boots aren't waterproof.....and as my legs are longer than my trousers they ride up and let water in the back of my boots (why are woman's trousers shorter leg????) Going to try Drew's trousers on as they longer (spare pair obviousley)....but come rain or shin we will be there at 10am tomorrow morning :smt026 |

If your boots are wet inside, stuff them with old newspapers, leave for a couple of hours, then repeat. Draws the damp out fairly quickly:D |

Ah, the old 'plastic bags over your socks trick'. Sounds daft, but really does work:D |
Re: Abergavenny Sun 16th Mar
Is there anybody else going? Or just the two bikes?

Re: Abergavenny Sun 16th Mar

Re: Abergavenny Sun 16th Mar
What a great day, despite the cold, wet start!
Nice to see Evertheoptimist at British Camp, where we weren't all cold at all! http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...arch080011.jpg Nice run from there down to Abergavenny, apart from the two rivers we had to sail across:D The Bus Station was full of police, as it was Bike Safe day, but no comments about our stubbies;) Memorise these faces! http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...arch080081.jpg Even the helicopter turned up to play! http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i1...arch080101.jpg From Aber we went on to Sennybridge and had a great all-day breakfast at the cafe attached to the petrol station. Can thoroughly recommend both the food and the service. Then down to Llandovery, up to Builth Wells, then the A44 back to Worcester, where we said goodbye to Drew and Lily. 10 hour and 290+ mile day for us, and enjoyed every minute of it. Drew and Lily were good fun and good company, and we hope they enjoyed the day as much as we did. Hope Evertheoptimist found somewhere warm and dry for brekkie, and got home ok! |
