Re: Ducati - Discussion...
You see this is all so sad really. No Brit has won a world championship blue riband event since George Formby way back when on the Isle of Man.(:p) There is a glaring opportunity by association being missed here.
The theory goes something like this..... You see on Casey's helmet and on his fairing one can plainly see the Union Jack. This is due to the fact that his GreatGreat grandad was transported to Aussie for the heinous crime of apple scrumping. In order to go back to his roots and engender himself to his distant kin folk still in G.B young Casey came to England as a young lad and for the first several weeks stayed in a cravan in Ainsdale,Southport. FACT! So you see we could be standing there glowing....."Well of course that young Casey lad is one of ours y'know? I would much rather encourage him along than a God Like Italian who only uses the U.K as a base for tax reasons. P.s. to Stewie. Casey proved he was a GOOD rider on a BAD bike in 2006 when running a satelite Honda in a one rider team,(that is a very tough call for a rookie.) He finished 8th that season despite a few falls. That means he finished ahead of 2 full factory rider to do that.He showed last year in winning his title that the falls of the previous season were largely because he asking way too much from the Honda,on the Ducati..well it's all now glorious history. |
Re: Ducati - Discussion...
You just like him because he was plying his trade in Spain? (as well as the UK)

He pushed Dani Pedrosa to the limit in the 250cc class. I like him because he is obviously talented and it has not been handed to him on a plate.Simple as that really. |

He's a bit of a sulker, but he's a talented guy alright. He'd be much more likeable if his attitude was better when he lost,IMO. |

This is a motorcycle racing contest. It is not a personality contest.;) |

He's riding well, he's winning races, I think Casey has an in built lack of self confidence, its like he wins but its not enough, perhaps he is seeking Rossi levels of adulation to make himself feel better about himself in some way. Who knows whats going on inside his head. He's a demon rider on the top of his game His Mrs is gorgeous He's minted and he's pulls f*cking fantastic wheelies like the one he did at Donny on Sunday. The only way some fans are going to cheer him is if he, rides a Yamaha, runs No 46 on his fairing and changes his nationality to Italian. I like him, he says what he thinks and he gets on with the job, if that means throwing a strop now and again fair play to him. Its a very small minority that give him greif he needs to get over it. I did notice this year that number of Rossi workshipers had deminished and at no time over the weekend hear anybody boo Casey, everybody I was sat near were very knowledgable about racing in general and very appreciative of his talent. |

Same goes for Toseland, meet the fella and he will talk to you, not down to you like id imagine it would be with Stoner. Ha, Toseland got egged on to tell me that "SV V-twins are **** and to get a decent bike" at the TT last year... Friends told him to do that LOL. Even wrote it down for me to rememeber on his set list... (I talked to him after the gig with Crash! [cant remember the name of the place it was... on douglas front]) Great fella :o. |
